New Stuff

It's been awhile since I've posted. I've been busy rippin vinyl and re-organizing my datas. I got a new mix, some new rips and some parties as well.

Philly Club Mix

My boy, Matt (aka Bropar) and I have been up to some cool things lately. He writes zines, throws shows and collects cool records. We're doin a party this weekend where I'll be spinning a bunch of old soul and honky-tonk. The location (see link) has changed and Bucket Flush will be replaced by "Mujares" from Spain, who play awesome psych rock. I thought you should still see the awseome old flyer, though.

The End of an Era?

The Technics 1200 is hands down the best turntable ever produced, and arguably one of the most reliable pieces of electronics ever. Its been in production essentially unchanged for 35 years. It made Dj'ing as we know it today possible. Sadly, there have been rumors floating all around the interwebs about it being discontinued. This is the most substantial article I could find about the situation.

Goodbye JJC!!!!!

Jesse Conrad, who I first encountered years ago when he was selling records and stereo equipment on his stoop, is leaving for a year in Indonesia. Me and Jesse(DJJJC)have spent the past few years spinning at various venues around the city. Together we are Dollar Grillz. This Monday at Elaina's will serve as his farewell party. Dj Frosty will be this weeks guest. Whether you know him or not, come see him off properly, disco style.

Oh yea, and he's a collector of rad vintage synths and uses them to make things.. like this:

UMC's

Hailing from Staten Island, this duo released their first album "Fruits of Nature" in '91. They were short lived, as they broke up shortly after their second album. They're a perfect example of early 90's east coast hip-hop. Enjoy.
